Searching for Tweets and Status Updates

by Greg on October 21, 2009

imagesWhile Twitter has always had a search function, today brings news that tweets will soon be part of the search results at Bing and Google. You can read more about Bing’s implementation in Ben Parr’s article on Mashable and read more about the Google plans on Mashable as well.

There were reports that Bing also plans to make Facebook status updates part of the search results as well.

Good search engines will make Twitter and Facebook information easier to use for all of us and help us find relevant information faster. Also, as more of these updates integrate into results, it gives all of us a better chance of being found by a happy accident of the searching variety.

In other words, it seems like real-time web conversation is here to stay.
